Places you should go in Gyeongju, South Korea : Jusangjeolli Cliff of Gangdong Hwaam Maeul Village (경주 가볼만한 곳 : 주상절리)

Hi, guys! Today, I'm going to show you guys one of the beautiful place in South Korea.
This place is in Gyeongju, South Korea. and I don't think Korean people also not really know this place.

Jusangjeolli are columnar rock formations with cross sections in hexagonal or triangular shapes. The jusangjeolli at the shore of Hwaam Maeul Village were created by basalt lava that erupted in the Tertiary period of the Cenozoic Era about 20 million years ago. The columnar basalt formations were created as the lava cooled and shrank into cracks. The rocks look like wood stacked horizontally or vertically en masse. The length of the columns average around 20 meters and diagonally are about 50 centimeters at the longest cross-section. Of the columnar lava formations on the East Coast, the Jusangjeolli in Hwaam are the oldest, so it is academically invaluable. Shaped in various angles, the rocks also offer a great landscape for sightseeing.

In Jeju island also has jusangjeolli but if you are planning to go to busan it's good to go to Gyeongju it's only an hour by a bus and it costs like 6,000won.

Actually, I also didn't know there's that beautiful place in Gyeongju. And when I went there, it was speachlessly beautiful place.

I felt like I was in Jeju island or something like that.

There's different shapes of the jusangjeolli cliff and it looks really amazing!

If you go to Jusangjeolli cliff in Gyeongju, I recommend you to wear a comfy shoes and clothes! Probably you will walk a lot if you go there. But you will never regret to go there though!

 

 

 

I went there with my mom by a car. So I don't know how to go there by public transport. But in jeju island and Gyeongju, normally people rent a scooter a lot and it's not that expensive. So what you need to is the international driving license!

 

 

 

 

I highly recommend you guys to go there! Gyeongju is such a nice place to explore. It's really old city and looks amazing.
